Mayor of Bognor Regis names 4Sight Vision Support as one of his Mayoral Charities for 2022/2023
4Sight Vision Support is delighted to have been chosen by the Mayor of Bognor Regis, Councillor John Barrett, as one of his two Charities of the Year, the second being the Bognor Regis Foodbank.
During his term of office from 2022-23, the Mayor will help raise awareness and vital funds for 4Sight Vision Support, our headquarters are based in Bognor Regis. We support blind and sight impaired people of all ages across West Sussex.
John and his partner, Mayoress Carole Brett, are already helping to promote our fundraising Wellbeing Walk, on 1st October along Bognor Regis seafront. This is the second of the series: Carole has already taken part in the first Walk in July and would encourage anyone to sign up and have some fun while raising money for a vital cause. Carole will also be holding her own fundraising coffee morning in September and both the Mayor and Mayoress will be helping out with a street collection on 24th September in the town.
Councillor Barrett commented “I first heard about 4Sight Vision Support’s incredible work from my Mayoress Carole through her role as co-ordinator for Re-engage, a charity which supports older people. She has seen just how much impact the support, advice and community activities for those who are blind or sight impaired has made to their lives. I also have personal experience of sight-related illness, having been diagnosed with Fuchs’ dystrophy in 2004, a progressive deterioration of the cornea for which I am now awaiting a transplant.”
Kirstie Thomas, CEO at 4Sight Vision Support added, “We are all delighted to have been chosen as one of the Mayor’s Charities of the Year – this will really help us raise our profile and help fund our initiatives for supporting children and adults of all ages suffering from sight loss in the Bognor Regis area and right across the county. We look forward to working with John and Carole in the near future.”
