£445 Raised to Make a Positive Difference

Dedicated volunteers of Burgess Hill took to the local street to raise awareness and vital funds for 4Sight Vision Support. On Saturday 29th June, Burgess Hill residents were greeted by friendly and active volunteers of the charity.

An amazing £445.40  was raised thanks to the community of Burgess Hill which will help ensure that a diagnosis of sight loss is not a one way road to loss of independence and isolation.

We currently have 50 members from the Burgess Hill area that are supported by our services, along with the support their families / carers can receive too. This street collection was a great opportunity to raise awareness of the services and support people can receive – whether they are living with sight loss now, or ever receive a sight loss diagnosis.

Every Thursday 9am – 1pm, we hold a Drop-In session at the Burgess Hill Town Council, Church Walk Road. This is a open time for anyone to come along that has have any questions about sight loss to see our dedicated Outreach Worker for your area. We look forward to welcoming you and taking time to talk with you.

It is estimated by the West Sussex public health team that there are over 32,000 people with sight loss or low vision in West Sussex (RNIB, 2016). We provide information, advice and guidance to help create a community that inspires and mentors its peers to maintain and transform their own lives into positive and fulfilling ones after sight loss. We actively support our members to lead independent lives and remain active in their communities.
