Hello everyone, my name is Julia, and I have been a member of 4sight Vision Support for over seven years.

My first 4sight Vision Support club experience, was seven years ago, when I was introduced to the Craft Club, at Brighton Road Baptist Church. I felt very apprehensive, not least because me doing anything in the way of art and craft, had always been nothing short of laughable, if not unbelievable! However, I was made to feel so welcome and at ease, and with help, my artistic talent has developed beyond belief!

Over the following years, one club led to another, one opportunity led to another and I have made so many new friends!

This is all thanks to 4sight Vision Support.

I am involved with activities that even as a sighted person, I never thought I would be doing. Through the various 4sight Vision Support clubs and associations, I am horse riding, tandem cycling, and rambling through our beautiful Sussex countryside.

Being blind or visually impaired is a disability, but it can also be looked upon as a challenge; not a challenge in a bad way, but one which can help us decide that our sight loss is not going to stop us doing anything we want to do. A challenge that can prove we can do anything a sighted person can do.

4sight Vision Support, together with its wealth of services and teams of wonderful volunteers can help all of us grow in confidence, independence, capability and very importantly, to believe in ourselves.

4Sight 4Me is 4Fun 4Independence 4Life!

I am now delighted to be able to introduce myself to you, as the Chairperson of the newly established Horsham Area Committee, representing members of 4sight Vision Support, throughout the Horsham District. I feel extremely privileged and honoured in being given this amazing opportunity.

Please get in touch and let me know if there are any particular events, clubs or activities, that you would like to see in our area. We are open to any ideas!

Call: 01243 828555 or email enquiries@4sight.org.uk

I hope very much that you will join me on this new and exciting adventure for Horsham District members and let’s, all together, make our community a strong and active force within the wider 4sight Vision Support family.
