Microsoft have recently created a new camera App called ‘Seeing Al’. It is designed to help those with visual impairment, by making the world around them into an audio experience.
The App features technology that can:
- Speak text as soon as it appears in front of the camera
- Provide audio guidance to capture a printed page, and recognizes the text, along with its original formatting
- Give audio beeps to help locate barcodes and then scans them to identify products
- Recognise friends and describes people around you, including their emotions
The app is also adding in additional features such as the ability to identify currency bills when paying with cash.
