4Sight Vision Support has received £5,000 to fund services to support visually impaired people in and around Bognor Regis and neighbouring towns.
The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation, which offers Discovery Grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
The grant will help build confidence, safety, accessibility and build communications skills with the use of adapted equipment and outreach visits. The project will be delivered by people who themselves who have sight loss or have first-hand knowledge of sight loss.
Nik Demetriades (CEO) at 4Sight Vision Support said: ‘’ With a rise in demand on our services, this support could not have come at a better time. We need to reach those that are unable to come to us and this funding will help our outreach workers get to those people. This in time, will help build their confidence to enable them to be more active in the community and gain independence after sight loss diagnosis”.
Amy Slack, Manager at the Santander Foundation said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting 4Sight Vision Support, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
