Thank you for voting for us!
Throughout October – December 2021, you voted for 4Sight Vision Support in the Tesco Community Grant scheme in local stores to help us gain two wonderful grants.
We received two grants totaling £2,500 – one from Tesco Littlehampton stores, and another from Tesco Pulborough (& surrounding stores).
Your support will enable us to provide specialist services to enable blind & sight impaired children & young people (CYP) across West Sussex to live life without limits.
Our project will support blind and sight impaired children and young people to have equal opportunities to access education and employment and lead positive independent lives.
Through this project we will provide one-to-one tailored support to the CYP and their family, offering:
– Low vision assessments to identify magnification and lighting aids which will help reduce eye strain, make it easier to read and concentrate on school work/tasks.
– Equipment assessments to identify technology or aids to help them remain independent safely. e.g. filters for glasses to reduce glare, finger guards for using sharp knives, voice-activated apps to access information with ease.
– Work with and advise schools, colleges, places of work on how to best support their pupils/employees ensuring education and employment remain both accessible and enjoyable.
– Deliver a series of activities which bring blind and sight impaired CYP together to meet others in a similar situation to form new friendships, have new experiences and increase their independence.
– Signpost to other organisations.
If you or someone you know needs support in this way, please do contact our friendly client services team on 01243 828 555 or email enquiries@4sight.org.uk
