£233 Raised to Make a Positive Difference
Dedicated volunteers of Arun took to the local streets of Rustington to raise awareness and vital funds for 4Sight Vision Support. On Thursday 15th August, Rustington residents were greeted by friendly and active volunteers of the charity.
An amazing £233 was raised thanks to the community of Rustington which will help ensure that a diagnosis of sight loss is not a one way road to loss of independence and isolation.
We currently have 56 members from the Rustington area that are supported by our services, along with the support their families / carers can receive too. This street collection was a great opportunity to raise awareness of the services and support people can receive – whether they are living with sight loss now, or ever receive a sight loss diagnosis.
It is estimated by the West Sussex public health team that there are over 32,000 people with sight loss or low vision in West Sussex (RNIB, 2016). We provide information, advice and guidance to help create a community that inspires and mentors its peers to maintain and transform their own lives into positive and fulfilling ones after sight loss. We actively support our members to lead independent lives and remain active in their communities.
