The charity was established in 1921 to promote the welfare of blind and partially sighted people living in West Sussex. The county has one of the highest incidences of age-related eye disease in the country with up to 30,000 people affected by a visual impairment.
4SIGHT is a membership organisation, open to anyone who is affected by or has an interest in sight loss and as of 1st April 2017, membership to 4SIGHT is free.
Membership Services include:
Access to our 4SIGHT Centre’s, general advice, support and information, equipment advice, demonstration and purchase, sight care advice, and referrals to other appropriate community services and agencies. Other services include – social & special interest groups, open days, Action Bus visits, sensory and exhibition days and our bi-monthly newsletters.
Supplementary chargeable services include:
Outreach Worker home visits, Low Vision Assessments, Kitchen Club, Large Print Puzzle Service, Audio Library and Transcription Services. Some Social & Activity club members will normally be asked to contribute towards costs of refreshments and transport if on offer.
