A group of 45 visually impaired members and sighted volunteers enjoyed a tour of Chichester Harbour recently.

The group set sail from Emsworth on a solar-powered boat to enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbour! The absence of a motor enabled everyone to feel the silence and better appreciate the fascinating talk, given by the crew from the Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

The crew gave information about the abundant wildlife in the harbour, including the 23 seals that live in its waters. They crew also talked about the history and surprising geographical change of the areas surrounding the harbour that have occurred over many centuries. The day was topped off by the sunny weather!
